A collegiate servce organization dedicated to the realization of mankind's potential
Service
Community service is the heart of our organization and what distinguishes it from other collegiate clubs. Circle K members from all over the world collectively perform over half a million service hours every year.
Leadership
Circle K International is a self governing organization that elects its own officers, providing countless positions and opportunities for its members to realize their leadership potential.
Fellowship
Circle K is a warm, welcoming environment where lifelong memories are made at exciting social events. As a worldwide organization, CKI connects students from many colleges who might not have met otherwise.
What is Circle K International?
Circle K International is a worldwide collegiate service leadership program sponsored by the Kiwanis organization. It is the largest of it's kind, with over 13,000 members in 17 different nations.
The focus of CKI is to promote three tenants of service, leadership, and fellowship. As a self-governing organization that elects its own officers, conducts its own meetings, and plans its own service events, Circle K offers its members a seamless blend of community service with leadership experience as well as the opportunity to create meaningful connections with students from all over the world.
The organization was originally established in 1934 as a fraternity intended to serve men who needed financial aid to attend college. In 1947 it changed from a fraternity to a service organization, with the first Circle K club being chartered that year at Carthage College. By 1955 it received official endorsement from Kiwanis and became the first co-educational organization of the Kiwanis Family in 1973.
